Eight Shoe Advertising Cards Promoting "Standard Screw Fastened" "clinching Screw" and "Silver & Copper Tipped" Shoes from New York, Massachusetts, Georgia and New Hampshire circa 1870s.

Mt. Upton, NY- A.H. Wheeler Advertising Trade Card featuring two men comparing a nailed and a Standard Screw shoe. The card shows faint evidence of scrapbook mounting in all four corners on the back.

Schuylerville, NY- Marshall & Grippen Advertising Trade Card touting the benefits of silver and copper tipped boots and shoes. It has a very unusual vignette that depicts a cupid ramming a large arrow through the back of a knight on horseback The piece has a few small chips out of the margins.

Macon, GA- H. Schall & Bro. Advertising Trade Card featuring Jumbo wearing shoes with clinching screw soles and heels. The card has a couple of small paper thins and some stains on the back.

Boston, MA- C.F. Appleton Advertising Trade Card showing competitors unsuccessfully trying to destroy a clinching screw shoe.

Shelburne Falls, MA- G.W. Jenks Advertising Trade Card featuring boys trying to remove the sole of a shoe that uses Standard Screw Fastened soles and another boy lecturing a cobbler on the merits of the product.

Lebanon, NH- Cragin & Sturtevant Advertising Trade Card showing competitors unsuccessfully trying to destroy a clinching screw shoe. The piece has a small tape repair at bottom center.

New Bedford, MA- Ashley & Wilcox Advertising Trade Card featuring a large shoe full of children that is being drawn by two lions. The card shows faint evidence of minor handling.

New Bedford, MA- Palmer's Cheap Cash Shoe Store Advertising Trade Card featuring a large "Standard Screw Fastened" shoe full of children that is being drawn by two lions thundering past an overturned Pegs and Nails shoe. The piece has faint evidence of minor handling.
