Description / 1880 T$1 Trade Dollar PCGS PR67+CAM (CAC)
1880 T$1 PR67+ Cameo PCGS. CAC. Ex: Simpson. The 1880 Trade dollar -- only struck in proof format -- is a well-made issue, popular with type collectors, especially when found in high grade. Nonetheless, Superb Gem examples are scarce, and PCGS has seen fewer than a dozen Cameo specimens in PR67 with none graded finer; two Deep Cameos in this grade are also reported.
The Simpson Superb Gem is a starkly contrasted top-grade Cameo, showing nearly flawless, liquidlike fields that glimmer beneath a light. Warm sun-gold interiors cede to peripheral amber, violet, blue, and olive toning, complementing the sharpness of the central devices. Eye appeal is outstanding. Population: 11 in 67 (4 in 67+) Cameo, 0 finer. Check out all the great US Coins, Paper Money, Ancients, World and Exonumia at Sarasota Numismatics. We are happy to answer any questions about this or anything in our vast inventory.
