Antoninus Pius, A.D. 138-161, Gold Aureus (7.48 g). Mint of Rome, struck A.D. 145-7. ANTONINVS AVG PIVS P P, bare-headed and cuirassed bust facing right. rev. TR POT COS IIII, Roma seated left, holding Palladium and a spear, a shield rests at her side. RIC 147; Calicó 1654a; BMC 555. Light graffito in obverse field, struck in high relief on a broad flan, lustrous, scarce, an impressive coin of beautiful style.
